Days Matter Privacy Policy
中文版Days Matter respects user privacy and data security. This policy explains how the Days Matter Chrome extension collects, uses, shares, stores, and protects data, and how users may manage related data.
1. Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to the Days Matter Chrome extension and its related services. Days Matter helps users manage dates, progress events, birthdays, anniversaries, and reminders in the browser new tab page, and may sync event data with a Days Matter account.
By using the extension, users acknowledge the data practices described in this policy. Users who do not agree with this policy may stop using the extension, remove it from the browser, or clear locally stored data.
2. Data We Collect and Process
Days Matter processes data only to the extent necessary to provide and improve the extension. Depending on whether a user signs in, enables sync, or uses reminder features, we may process the following data:
- Account and authentication data: login state, access tokens, and necessary identifiers related to account sync.
- Event data: event titles, dates, times, recurrence rules, reminder settings, tags, colors, icons, notes, creation times, update times, and deletion status.
- Sync data: operation records generated when creating, editing, deleting, or archiving events locally, as well as last sync time, sync status, and sync error information.
- Reminder data: reminder content, reminder time, snooze status, completion status, sent reminder records, and reminder interaction status.
- Local configuration data: extension settings, interface settings, and necessary data used to store local usage state in the browser.
- Technical data: request time, API path, error logs, browser and device environment information, IP address, and logs used for security troubleshooting and service stability.
3. Chrome Extension Permissions
The Days Matter Chrome extension requests permissions only to provide the product features described publicly. The extension currently uses the following permissions:
- storage: stores access tokens, event cache, sync status, reminder records, and local settings in the browser.
- alarms: scans local events at scheduled intervals to determine whether reminders should be triggered.
- notifications: displays browser notifications when reminders are due and supports snoozing or marking reminders as completed.

We collect and process data only for the following purposes:
- Providing core features such as creating, editing, deleting, archiving, displaying, and searching events.
- Caching events and reminders locally in the browser to improve offline use and page loading speed.
- Syncing event data with the https://days.nocode.com server after the user signs in and enables sync.
- Sending browser reminders based on user settings and recording whether reminders were sent, snoozed, or completed.
- Troubleshooting sync failures, API errors, reminder issues, and service stability problems.

5. Limited Use Disclosure
Days Matter uses user data in accordance with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Personnel will not manually read event content unless the user gives explicit permission, it is necessary to provide support, it is necessary for security troubleshooting, or it is required by applicable law.
6. Data Storage
When a user is not signed in or has not enabled sync, events, reminders, and settings are primarily stored locally in the browser. Local browser data is managed by the user device and browser.
After a user signs in and enables sync, event data and sync operations are sent over HTTPS to the https://days.nocode.com server to support cross-device access and backup.
Local data may be stored using Chrome storage, IndexedDB, or other browser-provided local storage mechanisms. Server-side data is stored in databases, cache systems, and logging systems necessary to provide Days Matter services.
7. Data Sharing
Days Matter does not share user data with advertising platforms, data brokers, or third parties unrelated to product functionality.
To provide the service, Days Matter may share necessary data with, or have necessary data processed by, the following categories of service providers:
- Cloud infrastructure, database, cache, and hosting providers used to run websites, APIs, databases, and background tasks.
- CDN and static resource service providers used to load icons, images, scripts, and static assets.
- Email, notification, logging, security, and error troubleshooting service providers used to send necessary notifications, diagnose issues, and protect service security.
- Government authorities, courts, regulators, or law enforcement agencies when legally required for compliance, security, or legal process.
8. Data Security
Days Matter uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including HTTPS transmission, access control, permission isolation, log auditing, and least-privilege processing.

Server-side account and event data is retained for as long as necessary to provide the service. After a user requests account cancellation or data deletion, related account and event data will be deleted or anonymized within 30 days, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
Logs used for security, auditing, troubleshooting, and statistical analysis may be retained for up to 12 months and then deleted or anonymized.

12. International Data Transfers
Depending on service deployment, cloud services, and infrastructure arrangements, data may be processed on servers or service provider environments outside the user’s region.
